Okay, so grip tape as you can see, is a papery layer and it is somewhat gritty. It is like you can apply to the top of your skateboard deck to make sure your shoes grip the board correctly, and you won’t fall off during the moves. It is a simple thing to do that, and you can do it by yourself or ask someone who has done it before to do that for you. Some skateboarders often cut these to pattern and apply them to their board in unique style so that they can easily adjust the nose and tails of the boards while skating.

Moreover, some skateboarders spray paint patterns on the top of those grips to ensure that they look stylish and safe to ride. To make sure you are using the correct type of clamps, you need to ask it to the seller from whom you are buying the product. You can also request this to your friends if you know any pro skaters.

Variety Of Grip Tapes

Grip tapes have so many forms and types. The one that has the black color on the other side, is the most common type. And it is the most common one; when you talk about grip tapes, people imagine the black ones. You can peel off the bottom of the sheet of your grip, and a sticky and reliable thing will come off which you can place on your skateboards decks. However, a grip tape does not always have to be black. It can come in various colors and can even be transparent.

The sandpapery feel of a grip tape comes from various materials which depend on the brand that produces it. Some brands also use silicon carbide, a hard material that is durable and sharp. Don’t go for the companies that use aluminum oxide, because it can be cheaper and all but loses its strength quickly. Similarly, some colored tapes are of more inexpensive materials, and if you want them, chances are, they won’t last longer than your black tapes.
